The most remarkable aspect of this temple is its location in solid rock above the banks of the Nile River. It is believed that the axis of the temple was set by ancient Egyptian architects so that the sun's rays penetrate the sanctuary on October 22 and February 22 and illuminate the carvings on the back wall. These dates are claimed to be the king's birthday and coronation day. Nearby is the small temple of King Nefertari's wife. Then you will be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor.
