Enjoy Abu Simbel Day tour by a modern A/C coach early in the morning to visit the two rock-carved temples at Abu Simbel.
Duration: Roughly 9 hours tour.
Highlights
You will leave the hotel at early morning at around 5:00 am, escorted by our Egypt Solay Tours tour guide (3 and half hours one way driving) to the colossal Temple of Abu Simbel built by Ramses II and his Queen Nefertari. The most spectacular aspect of this temple is its setting in the solid rock above the banks of the Nile River. It is believed that the axis of the temple was positioned by the ancient Egyptian architects in such a way that on October 22 and February 22, the rays of the sun would penetrate the sanctuary and illuminate the sculptures on the back wall. These dates are allegedly the king's birthday and coronation day. Ramses II built the temple mostly to honor himself as inside there is a mural depicting his famous victory at Qadesh battle where his army defeated his enemies. Nearby lies the small Temple of the King's favorite wife Nefertari. You will Spend around 3 hours. Then after your fantastic tour you will be transferred back to your hotel in Aswan.
